Xbox, Windows Mobile to come together in a Live Platform
Microsoft is seeking the services of a Community Director for their Entertainment and Devices Division as per their career listing dated 10th August 2009. This job position appears to imply that Microsoft is planning to put together the Xbox Live, Windows Mobile and such other programs under one platform. Importantly, there are rumours of an offering of an informal type of game platform for social use with multiple devices.

They are in the look out for a Community Director to direct its social policies and implementation of its wide array of products from Xbox Live to Windows Mobile. This high office will have a leading role in the social space as the Live Engagement group shapes the generation-next projects which include the live social game platforms using multiple devices of game console, mobiles and others.
The primary duty indicated in the job profile is to build on a social strategy that influences all areas of the Live Services to provide settings and assignation within the three screens: the television, the computer and its browser and an assortment of mobile devices. Actually, the proposal was envisaged as part of Microsoft’s defining strategies for the current year.

Community Games for Xbox Live were revealed for the Zune in last February. This June, it was rechristened as ‘Indie Games’. Zune and Xbox Live appear to be networked by this method only except may be through Zune Video. Everything may get changed with the unveiling of Zune HD in September.
But, the job profile clearly states Xbox Live as well as Windows Mobile. We are actually in the dark about the linkage between the two, but a spokesperson for Microsoft mentioned about Zune software for Windows Mobile in October last. It is probable that Microsoft’s grand vision included a huge game platform on Windows incorporating all its products. It looks like ‘Live-Anywhere’, which concept was aired by Microsoft sometime in 2006.
