Tony Hawk: Ride – kate or die?

Submitted on November 26, 2009 No Comment

The development team of this game has tried to make it as real as possible but making a game close to reality does not work well all the time. This is what one would realize after playing this game. This game is not up to the mark where the fans of Tony hawk would be willing to try their hands on the button-mashing combos that were a craze of Tony hawk series.

Tony Hawk: Ride

The complete game is woven around a big costly plastic, which is definitely not what the players of this series would ask for. They instead expect something new that will make this series go forward in excellence. The skateboard is wheel less and thin and looks perfect at least before you start the ride. The ride is very tricky and it is very difficult when the player tries to stay in balance and attempt a straight steer.

Tony Hawk: Ride

The game is accomplished with three modes with halts in all main cities. Apart from this, there is also a free skate mode where the players can try their hands in roaming around the linear designs. The three modes are speed run, trick run and challenge mode. Players try to reach the goal as fast as possible in case of speed run and try to make moves and score more points in case of trick run. The challenge mode is more complex when compared to the other two modes where the player is required to complete a strict sequence of tricks. Players usually find this mode frustrating, as they require matching their steering in lining up the tricks.

The previous versions of Tony hawk were accurate in combo systems to pull of wide variety of tricks where as this version lacks it. In the end, one could say this version as an average attempt but definitely not up to the standards of previous versions of Tony Hawk series. If you are a die-hard fan of Tony Hawk series, then you may attempt this as well but will certainly take some amount of time in executing this game to perfection.
