Earnings of more than $1 Billion from Call Of Duty: Black Ops

Breaking its previous benchmark of over $650 million earned in the first five days from the release of COD: Black Ops, it has now earned over $1 billion. It has joined the record books. More than 600 million hours of online game play has been recorded. On an average, a person having this game plays over an hour daily. It was released by Activision all around the globe on 9th of November, 2010. Its developer Treyarch deserves the credit for making some fine improvements in COD: Black Ops from the previous versions of Call of Duty.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is a FPS game. It is seventh in the series of Call of Duty and released as a sequel to COD: World at War. It has gained some unbelievable popularity and has made some incredible financial gains for Activision. After its success, experts are of the view that the First Strike DLC, which is set to be released on 1st of February, can surpass the turnover made by Modern Warfare 2’s stimulus package.

CEO of Activision Robert Kotick told Media that Call of Duty: Black Ops is next to Avatar to earn the turnover over billion dollars. Avatar still holds the record to reach the turnover of $1 billion quickly than any other game.
